IranWiC mentorship program aims at supporting Iranian women studying or working in computing related fields in the US. Our program includes monthly 1:1 mentorships and monthly group virtual mentoring.
1:1 Long Term Mentorship:
Our 1:1 mentorship program is designed to help engage our community members and support them in developing their academic and professional skills through the guidance of a more senior member of the community. It is a goal-oriented program where mentees sign up based on a short term or long-term goal they want to work on with a mentor.
In our program, mentees and mentors work together overtime with an initial 4-month commitment (which can be extended based on mutual agreement between mentor and mentee) to support professional growth, development, and success of the relational partners through the provision of career support.
The target audience of our program are students and professionals in the United States. Examples of mentoring activities include, but are not limited to job referral, resume/cover letter revision, career/professional development advice, job application advice, grad school advice, scientific/technical advice.

Virtual Speed Mentoring:
Virtual speed mentoring is a series of monthly events with the goal of creating a casual and safe space for our community members to connect with mentors with different backgrounds and expertise, discuss their challenges and ask their immediate questions. It is designed to connect community members in larger groups from all over the US so that they can connect and learn from the experience of different Iranian experts from industry and academia.
The events are held monthly on Zoom and each event has 5 to 10 technical tracks. In each track a mentor is connected with 5~10 mentees and they discuss in a 1-hour session.
The target audience of our program are students and professionals all over the US.
